Ватогское соглашение
Соглашение жителей поселка на р. Ватога [Watauga River] на востоке Теннесси, бывших "регуляторов" [Regulator movement] из Северной Каролины. Заключено в 1772 с целью создания системы местного самоуправления, защиты от конокрадов и грабителей и ведения дел с племенем чероки [Cherokee], на землях которого было создано поселение. По соглашению был создан суд, состоявший из пяти человек; ему были также приданы полномочия органа законодательной власти. Суд руководствовался в основном законами Вирджинии [Virginia Colony]. Поселение, созданное на окраине Фронтира [Frontier], было одним из первых на тогдашнем Дальнем Западе (после 1775 существовало под названием Округ Вашингтон [Washington District]). Его основатели, в том числе Дж. Севьер [Sevier, John] и Дж. Робертсон [Robertson, James], стояли у истоков создания органов власти в Кентукки, Теннесси, Миссури и Арканзасе
